modern-day pet food we know as dry
kibble was introduced in 1955.
The extrusion process as it is known
involves high temperature, high pres-
sure and long cooking times to make
a consistent, shelf stable product. Un-
fortunately, this process destroys most
of the nutrient qualities of the food.
This requires the use of synthetic un-
natural nutrient supplements to be
added to the food.
We have also added into the mix the
development of pharmaceutical drugs
marketed at “preventing” everything
from disease to all types of parasitic
conditions that have unwanted ad-
verse events and consequences. Many
of these products require veterinary
intervention to be used.
While many will consider all of this as
innovation, understanding and en-
lightenment and a benefit to modern
health; we must understand that life,
specifically the body, is a precision be-
ing in its’ natural state. Everything that
we alter for whatever idea or conve-
nience will impact the body as a whole.
We have to take charge of our pets’
health and not be pressured by an in-
dustry that is based on strict protocol
and practice. If we chose a non-spe-
cies appropriate diet for our pet, our
pet then struggles to digest and utilize
foods that its body is not designed for.
That type of protocol creates a state of
dysregulation.
When we administer a man-made drug
or injection, the body must respond to
the changes it creates. Unfortunately,
all modern medicines are not designed
for health and as we introduce more
and different approaches, one’s life be-
comes disrupted, and more illness or
challenges are created.
We as pet parents need to take a stand,
use a reasonable approach as we have
seen more health issues that have been
introduced during this period of “ex-
pert” advancement. You need to look at
what actually works and how it works
before giving your responsibility to
someone else. Ask the questions and
demand educated and understandable
answers. This will bring you and your
pets a more healthy and enjoyable life.
