n the heart of Pompano Beach,
Florida, lies a veterinary clinic unlike
any other — All Aboard Animal
Hospital. This facility, under the
stewardship of Dr. Kevin McAllister
and his wife, Melissa, has become a
sanctuary for pets and a testament
to a dream of providing exceptional
veterinary care.
The dedication to this vision has
nurtured a facility where the health
and happiness of cats and dogs are
paramount, making it a cornerstone
of the community it serves. A dream
that is not of profits and business
models, but of unparalleled, non-
corporate care for our four-
legged companions.
This
commitment
has
cultivated
an
environment where
the welfare of cats
and dogs isn’t just a
priority; it’s a calling.
Dr. McAllister’s journey
to
veterinary
excellence
began in Salisbury, MD, amidst
a childhood enveloped by the
comings and goings of small
animals in his father’s clinic. This
immersion
into
the
world
of
veterinary medicine wasn’t just an
upbringing; it was a calling that
he heeded, pursuing his academic
and
professional
credentials
at
the University of Georgia. His path
from there was one of dedication
and purpose, culminating in the
acquisition of All Aboard Animal
Hospital in 2007.
All Aboard Animal Hospital is more
than its list of services, which, while
extensive, only tells part of the story.
Yes, they offer everything from
wellness exams to complex surgeries,
dental care, and even grooming.
However, it’s the philosophy that
underpins these services
that truly sets them
apart.

consultation, every treatment, and
every interaction.
Dr. McAllister’s expertise, particularly
in diagnosing and treating complex
veterinary cases, has made him a
beacon of hope for pet owners facing
challenging health issues with their
beloved pets. His ability to peel back
layers of symptoms to reach accurate
diagnoses where others might falter
is not just a skill but a gift. It’s this
level of dedication and expertise that
brings healing to pets and solace to
their owners, reinforcing the trust
placed in him and his team.
The team at All Aboard, including Dr.
Brenda Kaplin who joined in 2022,
mirrors Dr. McAllister’s dedication
and compassion. Each member, from
veterinarians to assistants, embodies
the clinic’s ethos, contributing to an
environment where pets are not just
seen but felt, where their needs and
comforts are paramount.
This collective spirit of care and
excellence ensures that every pet
and owner who walks through
their doors becomes part of the All
Aboard family.
In the vast landscape of veterinary
care, where impersonal interactions
and clinical environments are all too
common, All Aboard Animal Hospital
emerges as a beacon of warmth
and personalized care. It stands as a
testament to what is possible when
passion for animals and veterinary
excellence converge.
For Dr. McAllister, his team, and the
many pets and owners whose lives
they’ve touched, All Aboard isn’t just
a clinic. It’s a community, a family,
and indeed, a home.
In Pompano Beach and beyond, the
name All Aboard Animal Hospital
resonates not just as a place of healing
but as a sanctuary of compassion,
understanding, and familial warmth.
It’s a place where pets are treated as
part of the family, a practice that not
only heals but binds, strengthening
the unspoken bond between humans
and their animal companions.
This, in essence, is the heart of All
Aboard Animal Hospital — a heart
that beats strongly, compassionately,
guided by the skilled hands of Dr.
McAllister and his dedicated team.

hen it comes to feeding our furry
friends, every pet owner wants
to ensure they’re providing not just
love and comfort but also the right
nutrition. With the growing trend of
integrating more natural and human
foods into dogs’ diets, it’s crucial
to understand which foods are safe
and which could pose health risks.
This article dives into the specifics of
whether dogs can eat avocado, celery,
mango, cinnamon, honey, pistachios,
and almonds.
AVOCADO
Avocado is a bit of a controversial fruit
when it comes to dogs. It contains a
substance called persin, which can be
toxic to some animals. However, in
dogs, persin is generally not harmful
in small amounts. The bigger risk with
avocados is the pit, which can cause
choking or blockages in the digestive
tract if ingested. Therefore, while a
small amount of avocado flesh might
not harm your dog, it’s best to avoid it
due to the risks associated with the pit
and potential for fat overload, which
can lead to pancreatitis.
CELERY
Celery is safe for dogs to eat in
moderation
and
can
even
be
beneficial. It’s low in calories and high
in vitamins and minerals, making it
a healthy snack option. Chewing on
celery can also promote healthy teeth
by helping to clean them. However,
it’s important to cut celery into bite-
sized pieces to prevent choking.
MANGO
Mango is another fruit that’s safe for
dogs, provided certain precautions
are taken. The flesh of the mango is
rich in vitamins and can be a sweet
treat for your dog. However, the skin
can be tough to digest, and the pit
poses a choking hazard and contains
small amounts of cyanide. Always
peel the mango and remove the pit
before offering it to your dog.
CINNAMON
Cinnamon is non-toxic to dogs, but
it’s not exactly beneficial, and in large
quantities, it can cause irritation and
allergic reactions. A small amount
of cinnamon, such as what might
be found in dog-friendly recipes, is
generally safe. However, there’s no
nutritional reason to include it in
your dog’s diet, and it’s best used
sparingly.
HONEY
Honey is safe for dogs in small
quantities. It can be beneficial for
dogs with allergies due to its anti-
inflammatory properties and can
also help with gastrointestinal issues.
